Dust, pollen, leaves and bird droppings on the panel surface prevent sunlight from reaching the cells. Depending on the level of soiling, yield losses range from 5 to 15 percent.
Two cleanings a year are recommended in city centres and 3-4 in agricultural and industrial areas. The spring pollen season and late-summer dust season are the most critical times.
How to clean correctly
- Use demineralised water, no detergents
- Choose soft brushes or water-spray systems
- Never step on the panels
- Clean early in the morning rather than at midday
