Most EV owners do the bulk of their charging at home overnight. Charging from a standard socket is slow and carries long-term safety risks, which is why a wall-mounted wallbox is the right solution.
Single-phase buildings can use a 7.4 kW wallbox, while three-phase buildings can choose 11 or 22 kW. Always check the power supported by your vehicle's on-board charger as well.
What to look for
- Dynamic load management support
- RFID card or app-based access control
- IP54 or higher outdoor protection
- Solar mode for charging with surplus PV
If you have a rooftop solar system, set your wallbox to run on solar surplus and charge your car almost for free.
